<p>I'm looking at a chem 3bl lab section that is at capacity and I was wondering how the wait list system works.</p>
<p>does it take up units? (n00b question)</p>
<p>Should I even attempt to waitlist a lab?</p>
<p>How does the system choose who will be put in the class from the waitlist?</p>
<p>For chem labs at least, do students who are on the waitlist get into the lab if they're the first one's to waitlist in it?</p>
<p>also...do they add more sections to the schedule later in the year?</p>

<p>waitlist a lab section that has the fewest waitlisted students to increase your chances of getting in. since it’s still early, i think it’s worth waitlistling… especially since it’s 2 units only so it’s not like “wasting” it or anything…</p>
<p>If someone drops from the section you are waitlisted in, the first person in that section gets in, then the next and next. It matters what position you are within the section, not what position you are in the lecture.</p>
<p>They probably will not open more sections.</p>

<p>there should be at least 2-3 labs going at the same time…they’re all filled up? what is this i don’t even.

<p>why do ppl wait list an open class? there are seats available and units are being used…</p>
<p>it’s what fits their schedule I would assume. And really if you don’t pick now, you probably won’t even have the chance later to even get on the waitlist. (that’s what happened to me in 3al. phase 1 couldn’t even get on a waitlist because they were all full)</p>
<p>There’s only 1 thurs 1-5 section so your chances of getting in are lower. If another lab section fits your schedule, you should really sign up for it or you’ll risk having to take 3BL another semester or summer. Friday sections aren’t bad at all, neither are morning ones. You usually get out an hour early anyway.</p>

<p>there should be an option to waitlist either after trying to sign up for the class or on the left hand side.</p>
