Of course I don't go to college for another year, but whatever. At first my plan was French because I had this obsession with the UN, but I was like, nah, I know English. So I moved on to Chinese because I take Japanese and thought knowing a few kanji would help, but nah, a few kanji means nothing compared to 230947239487 characters. So I moved on to Korean, thinking, well, I'd love to visit the DMZ and if anything major happens in North Korea when I'm in college I'll be able to speak it. And the alphabet is apparently disgustingly easy to learn.

I strongly recommend Chinese since its my native language:). It’s just so different from all the other languages and it is really beautiful if u get into it. To me, no language can even compare to it. However, if u r interested in North Korean issues, Korean is a good language to learn and i believe it is much easier than Chinese

Yea. An easy writing system will be so relieving coming off of Japanese. And they use a similar word order or something. Plus for my dream job Korean gets a big bonus.

I plan to minor in Korean too. I the Korean language. But there’s one set back though. Korean is one of the hardest languages to learn for English speakers.

Hahah, I’m smiling the creepiest smile in my mind (if that makes any sense - Because I’m in the library, I can’t express my feelings to my fullest potential :P.). As a native Korean, I love it when people show interest in the Korean culture or language.

im korean GO FOR IT!! If you have any Korean friends around you, I bet they’ll be willing to help you… All the Koreans (including me) around me are MORE THAN SO … :)
