I've sort of freaked myself out

When I applied to all my schools, I was fairly confident I had a chance at all of them (well almost all of them). Now that a month has passed since I've submitted my applications, I'm scared...

Schools I've applied to:
University of Denver
University of Puget Sound
Northeastern
American
University of Oregon
Rice (No need to say anything about this one, I know it is a super, major, never gonna happen reach. I only applied b/c of my dad)

I plan to major in German or International Studies.

And, my stats:
SAT: 1410 (730M, 680V)
ACT: 31
SAT II: writing 740, math IC 680, lit 650 (I know I really should have studied a bit and retaken them, I was just all tested out)

GPA: 3.95 (i'm afraid there is nothing to wieght. I never took an AP class even though my school offers its fair share of them...oops. I know it probably maked no difference, but I did take advanced bio and chem)

My school does not rank, but I know I am at least in the top 20%. It's probably higher though...I go to a really good public school in New Mexico if that matters at all

My essay should be OK. everyone I gave it to liked it.

My recs should also be OK. One teacher volunteered to write one for me and the other told me he would love to do it...hopefully those mean good things

And now the less than steller ECs
German Club - 2 years, currently vice presiden, exchange program
local democrat group - 2 years, poll worker at caucus, helped register voters, etc.
key club - 10th grade
band - 9th grade (and 4 years before)

I work at the library 10 hours/week too...

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any other suggestions for schools, I would love to hear them

your're in to all of those schools for sure
i know people who did much worse than u and got in to UO and all those places

you're in to all of them except rice. i'm sorry if this sounds harsh, but the lack of AP classes and ECs is just going to make them think you're lazy considering you have soild standardized test scores. but who knows.. g'luck!

don't worry. not harsh at all. i understand it looks lazy.

My friend got into UPS with much lower stats (1150, 3.5) so you have a very good chance there.

And you're in at U0 (but don't go there, remember, it sucks to be a duck).

are there any schools with deadlines that haven't passed that will not look down a whole lot on my lack of APs and ECs?

You're into all of them except Rice. Sorry, I agree with twink1.

did you have the chance to take any? If you are taking all or most of the AP's your school has, then don't worry. So you didn't take any tests or anything?

you should apply to some other schools too

nealious - yeah, i did have the chance to take APs, I just didn't. There were personal reasons for the small amount of ECs and my reasons for not taking APs, but I didn't mention them on my apps, so for these purposes, none of those excuses exist...we'll just say I didn't take the classes or do the ECs because I was lazy.

dc2005 - I know, I want to apply to other schools. I'm in the process of finding others which have rolling, feb., or mid jan. deadlines, but I just don't know...

You seriously should have mentioned the personal reasons. My friend had personal problems fresh AND soph year and her GPA was about a 3.55 UW. She explained these reasons to UVA, Cornell, and Duke and got into UVA and Cornell and waitlisted at Duke...

I also have personal issues that gave me a B avg fresh year - my g-counselor tells me I need to explain, so I most likely will. But you needn't worry cuz you will get into some of the schools you applied to and if not to your top choice, you can always transfer.

i was afraid they would make me look weak, like i couldn't handle stress and had problems moving on and getting over things...so that's why i decided not to tell them.

That does make sense - I get what you're saying. The person I know explained how those things were obstacles she was able to overcome so I guess that's how admissions viewed it, too.

I never took any APs and I got into Georgetown EA with very similar stats (same SAT, lower GPA, higher SAT IIs). Maybe you should apply to a couple (reasonable) reaches as well, because you are definitely getting into all of the schools you listed (with the exception of Rice).
