Accepted Already
UGA Honors Program (Full Ride)
UPitt Honors Program
University of Chicago

HOW DOES IT LOOK? DO I HAVE A SHOT?

HARVARD
YALE
DARTMOUTH
JOHNS HOPKINS
DUKE
EMORY
BERKELEY

You have a very good chance of getting accepted at the colleges you listed below, but I think you should to UGA honors program because of the full ride. It doesn't matter where you get your undergraduate degree, however, it matters where you get your graduate degree. So, I suggest you to Harvard, Yale, Princeton, etc. for your graduate degree. Saving money is the key.

bump bump ;)

wow
You're standardized test scores and academic record really steal the show
You have a really good chance at all of them
Harvard and Yale are crapshoots for everyone so don't have very high hopes regarding them

Please chance me
My thread is on the top, labelled "Please chance me for UPenn Early Decision"

berekley and emory- i basicallly would guarantee acceptance there
however, for the ivies, you have the same chances as everyone else its a reach..but i'll bet you get into one

I agree with ^. Please chance me in this section; it's under "Please Chance me for Georgetown" I think on the 2nd or 3rd page.

This doesn't matter when most of the other schools that he's applying to meet full financial need. Anyways, your stats are beastly for a URM.

thanks a lot man!^

and yes, my family is middle income. <100k :)

Chance at all of them! Harvard and Yale are obviously toss ups for everyone this year..
Good luck, you have stellar stats :) thanks for the chance

good chances at all....good luck.....harvard and yale are reaches, but not impossible....

you have a good shot at harvard and yale. u have rlly solid stats and not to sound mean...ur hispanic. ur nationality will rlly rlly help u at the ivies since they like diversity ethnically, especially hispanic.

omg u have a great shot at the ivies bc of ur ec, sat, and URM, , and thus everywhere else,

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/627471-chance-sista.html

I agree with guptasaintx. You're waay ahead of me though, on the SAT and everything. :)

URM + Solid stats + good ecs = good chance for ivies and match every where else
chance back
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/628026-carnegie-mellon-cit.html

All righty, here's what I think

Harvard/Yale: Probably not. Although, your URM status may significantly boost you, I don't see any EC that's eye popping. Unfortunately, that's what a lot of these schools are expecting. For HYPS, your SAT scores/GPA/Rank definitely will NOT hurt, but I don't think they'll help either, as your stats are captured within the norm for students at these universities. Again, your URM may count for more than you think, and it's not IMPOSSIBLE to get admission to these schools.

Dartmouth/Duke: Likely. I would say this depends on your essays. Again, your SAT scores are good for anyone. Add the URM, and it only magnifies your chances. Admission to these would largely depend on your essays, which you say are super good. If this is the case, then you have good chance of acceptance.

JHU: I'd say most likely for this one. Same reasons as above, except for JHU, you're even MORE likely to be admitted.

I don't feel I'm familiar enough with Emory/Berkeley to assess, so I'll leave that to someone else :p

Hope that helped!
Don't forget to chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/626211-chance-brown-princeton-cornell-cmu-etc.html

harvard is a reach with the SAT score

Your gpa and sat scores are pretty solid, however, those ECs may hold you back a bit. And that emory-doctor internship rec you got should be a huge benefit for emory.

Compared to a lot of the people that I've seen apply to some of the Ivy Leagues that you mentioned, your GPA might actually be a bit low. In terms of your test scores, you're probably about on-par with a lot of the other applicants. The thing that is really going to set you off is going to be your E/C's... Having said that, here's what I'm thinking your chances are:

Harvard/Yale - Always hard to tell. (I've heard rumors about them deferring the VD at my school - also a highly, nationally ranked school based out of Georgia, and she had a solid 4.0 unweighted GPA and amazing SAT/ACT scores!)
Johns Hopkins - Almost certainly accepted
Emory - Accepted
Duke - A bit of a reach but, depending on how you presented yourself in your E/C's, you might be able to swing an acceptance
Berkley - Almost Certainly Accepted
Dartmouth - Same as Duke

My suggestion, though? Just go with the UGA Honors College acceptance. College is expensive; a full ride will take off a whole lot of the load and stress from you and your parents. Instead, continue to save up your money and use it for grad school. You'll definitely need it then!

Good luck!

ur prob in at JHU, emory, berk, duke..ur ivies are likely probly high matches cause URM and great grades but not guaranteed
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/623727-chances-would-appreciated-chances-back.html

thanks guys...
