I currently go to Drexel University, enrolled in the 5 year/3 co-op engineering program.
I will be entering my third year (pre-junior). I am planning on transferring after my pre-junior year to junior standing at another university.

Stats:

-Major: Chemical Engineering

-College GPA: 3.81

-Been an honors student and on the dean's list since '08

-Worked as a product development engineer for six months designing spinal implants (One of my designs has been approved and will be sent out for manufacturing)

EC's: Vice President of AIChE (school chapter)
Undergrad research
Co-founder and marketing director of MUN (school chapter)
And many others...

Are Ivies worth my time? Should I consider applying to them?
If yes, which? If not, then where?

I'm just starting the Commonapp and want to be heading in the right direction.

cornells engineering is 6 percent acceptance. if you consider that easy to get in? columbia’s is actually higher so be careful where you get your information

I actually heard the “Cornell is the easiest to get into” from a couple of different people but everyone has their own opinion. I’m quite surprised to find out that Columbia has a higher acceptance rate.

Nevertheless, would any ivies be worth a shot? Would I even have a chance?

Why would I need my SAT scores as a Junior transfer? I believe they would be irrelevant, correct me if I’m wrong though.

How will applying at the Ivies require more work? In the end you’re still filling out applications right? I do understand that it will be “harder” to get into Ivies and I obviously need to have the required statistics as well as stellar essays. Which is why I started this thread - to find out if my stats are good enough.

I do acknowledge that other schools are better ranked in Engineering. I took a look at the link you provided and I should have made my point a bit more clearer.

I’m not only restricting my list to Ivies, I also want to know if I have a chance at schools that have a similar reputation such as Stanford, Berkeley, etc…

Why do I care a lot about reputation? Most probably I won’t stick to engineering after undergrad and go on to Medical school or get a graduate degree in something else, in that case, the reputation of your undergraduate schools plays a role.
