Does going to an Ivy league school or top tier school (Cornell, Columbia, Penn, Georgetown) increase your chances of getting admission into a medical school? Or is it better to go to a school with a lower ranking and get better grades?

Please don't say "go to an Ivy and get good grades". ;)

Yes.
4.0 at IVY> 4.0 at State School
4.0 at State school > 3.8 at Ivy

As long as its not like a CC or really low ranked it doesn’t really matter as long as you do well. Adcoms will always look at Grades and MCAT primarily
