IVY ACceptance and money

Does being accepted to Ivy leagues or any other prestigious school have relation to how rich you are?
I guess I am saying, if you have money and can pay for the school will you have a better chance than the other out standing student who needs alot of financial aid?

I am asking this question because,,, universities after all is straightout business,$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

and I know many students who are really smart that didn't get in top colleges, and the dumbs ones,,,, who got in... cuz they had cold cash.

Admissions is need blind. The financial aid and undergraduate admissions office work independently. Of course developmental admits are a different story.

For wealth to be a tip factor in current Ivy admissions, you have to have stats that qualify you for admission (typically scores of at least 600 on all parts of the SAT, and at least a 3.0 gpa) plus parents who can be 7 figure donors.

Not for the most part. All the ivies are need blind and they actually recruit students from disadvantaged backgrounds. There are always a few developmental admits who got in because of their parents' ability to donate though.
