Ivy chances and 10th grade course selection

Hi, My daughter is taking AP Chem, English Hons, Math Hons, French Hons but Regular World History II in 10th grade. She took Honors World History in 9th grade but the school is not letting her take AP World in 10th grade, because they think it would be too much workload. I am worried that "downgrading" from Hons History I in 9th grade to Regular History II in 10 th grade will look bad for an Ivy application, like a job half done. Is it a problem? Please help. BTW, she did well in 9th grade Hons History and was recommended this year for AP World.

Thanks

Thanks. But if we cannot convince the school - is it going to look bad on the application?
Should she write to the college about it at the time of applying? Should she do AP World on her own?

I can’t imagine how she would be dinged for this in any way since she can only do what the school will allow.

Thanks. The thing that bugs her is that - all her classmates from last year’s Hons World I are doing AP World this year. She cannot do it because of her AP Chem (which the other kids aren’t doing). I guess her science credentials might look better when it comes time to apply, but what worries her is the downgrade from Honors to Regular. I mean - arent 10th grade course selections more important than 9th grade course selections? Should she try to study for AP World on her own and write a letter to the college admission folks about it when it comes time to apply in her senior year? I hate to see her heart-broken over this :(

Should she do AP World on her own? Any advice?

I think she’ll be fine  Harvard is more concerned with her SAT, GPA and extracurriculars than overanalyzing why she went from Honors one year to regular the next. For all they know, her school didn’t offer the course that year. Be proud that she’s doing so much as such an early age, and keep nurturing her to become a smart, well-rounded, young lady.
