Ivy Day 2017

Waitlisted at Penn! Didn’t apply to any other Ivies lol

I feel hollowed out; the aftermath of a storm; the beginning of the end.
Rejections are a great inspiration for poetry.
Lol.

@realityhitshard doesn’t Stanford come out tmrw?

waitlisted at brown, only ivy i applied to. 3.77 gpa, 1500 sat.

My son was waitlisted at UPenn and rejected after a deferral from Princeton. :frowning:

@junior1818 I applied early

My daughter was accepted in UChicago, Columbia, UPenn, Duke, Cornell, Vanderbilt, UMichigan, and UVA, waitlisted at Harvard, Yale, and Princeton, and rejected by Dartmouth.
Very very very happy…

@soulpup Admission rate in RD was 7.3%…
http://www.dukechronicle.com/article/2017/03/duke-accepts-7-3-percent-of-regular-decision-applicants

@Cariño Yes, 7.3% makes sense for Duke RD. Your initial post said that was ED, so I was shocked. It turns out ED was close to 25%. This is all pretty insane. RD is getting worse every year for schools across the board. Ugh.

Accepted: USC, Pomona, Hamilton, Amherst, UCLA, Case Western, UMich, ASU Barrett

Waitlisted: Columbia, Brown

Rejected: Duke, Vanderbilt, Harvard, Dartmouth, Penn, Princeton, Yale, Berkeley

Still waiting on Stanford, but I’m leaning towards Amherst, UCLA, and USC right now! Thankful that this process is over! (almost)

Got into Brown, waitlisted at Cornell, rejected everywhere else. I did not apply to Dartmouth.

@martychondria You applied to all 8 Ivys? Do many people apply to all 8 Ivys? Congrats BTW. You probably will come out on “Good Morning America” or get interviewed by Yahoo News. lol My kid just applied to one HYPSM school early.

Transfer Option CALS for Cornell

Waitlisted at Cornell+Dartmouth and rejected at the other ivies (didn’t apply to Yale). Well, I can’t say I wasn’t extremely disappointed and didn’t cry, but maybe it just wasn’t meant to be. Georgetown it is then

Sharing my DD’s Ivy results. Applied to Columbia, Brown, & Penn. Waitlisted at Brown & Penn, denied at Columbia. Have good news today from 2 schools that she got admitted though!

@hopelessopus12 I am from DC area and went to Cornell. IMO Georgetown is more prestigious than some Ivys, especially in certain programs. Personally, I rather go to Georgetown than Cornell or Dartmouth.

DD’s results:

Accepted: Harvard, (also USC, Tulane, and a few safeties)
Rejected: Princeton
33 ACT, 1530 SAT, 4.0

Glad to have all the info and move forward!

What a crazy ride today has been. Depression and tears of joy within minutes…denied, wait listed and an acceptance. DS worked her butt off at a very high performing high school in SoCal. Feels like a shot in the dark hit something and hit dead center. Congrats to all who made it and other doors will open…one closes another opens.

My application season went better than I expected! Results:

Accepted: Columbia, UCLA, Georgetown, Emory, Wash U, Vanderbilt, UC Berkeley, UCSD
Waitlisted: UPenn, Duke, JHU, Northwestern
Rejected: Harvard, Brown, Stanford (EA)

Good job to everyone!

Rejected all Ivy’s and everything top 20 except for UC Berkeley Regents. Life is weird
