Ivy League Chances?

Hi! I'm currently finishing up my freshman year of high school, and it has been a dream of mine to attend an ivy or 'little ivy' league school. My grades range from 90-100 in all classes. Some of my current ECs are Model UN, Historian on Class Board (student council for my class), Foreign Language Honor Society for French, National Junior Honor Society and I am an avid piano/cello player in orchestra, chamber orchestra, and jazz band. I'd like to pursue a career as a diplomat and I really enjoy current events and world issues.

I am a Indian female, and the reason why I bring that up is because I've read that ivy leagues usually reject Asians because they're good at everything pretty much. However, my dad is English and I have dual citizenship between the US and UK that makes me pretty unique and not so stereotypical. I also am not the stereotypical outstanding nerd at math and science, in fact those subject bore me, but I do well for the sake of the grade.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions on what to do to get into an ivy league school as I will be a sophomore this September?

I’ve been reading these forums for months, because I too dream of the Ivy leagues! What I’ve gathered from success stories of kids who even don’t have what would be considered the grades/scores: passion and interesting character. And yes it’s going to be tough for you as an Asian, but there’s always hope! They want people who make their schools interesting, so start by adding something interesting to your school. Seeing as you enjoy current events/issues and diplomatic stuff, get into the school paper. If there isn’t one, establish one! If there is one, make it better! Be creative and let your passions guide and make your high school experience a fruitful and interesting one: in the end that’s what counts.
