@ Aurea: Did he participate in any club? play any sport? (seriously) Was he afraid of anyone call him “nerd”? Is he Asian or white?

Minimally… I worked when it counted, and largely didn’t when unimportant. I didn’t strive for the highest decimal point and a A- was good enough for me in all classes.

It’s ultimately not the studying that matters. Spending time on your extracurriculars, taking initiative of the surroundings around you, cultivating relationships with your peers/mentors, etc are better things to do in your high school life. When it comes down to it, stressing over minute details of a schedule adcoms wouldn’t give a second glance is just simply neurotic.

Who’s afraid of the N word (nerd)? Don’t be ashamed, belly. You damn nerd…

yeah… Last time someone told me I’m a nerd I stared at him and said" Mind your word". He was scared and shut off.
But were you usually be called that way, Ivy Leaguers?

This thread makes me feel better about doing well without studying too much. I’m still afraid that I don’t actually know HOW to study hard and am going to scew up majorly in college because I won’t be used to the work.

hard work is overrated. connections are the only things that get one anywhere.
