For those who got into an Ivy League

Could you post your GPA and/or SAT/ACT scores? Just so that I can get an idea for what the competition is? Thanks

Im posting my the stats of my senior friends/neigbors

Columbia: 1440/4.0 uw (got 48 grand fin aid)
Princeton: 1500/3.8
Princeton: 1530/3.9
Harvard: 1560/4.0
Yale: 1550/3.9

All of these people were extremely awesome. I could not find people who were more worthy of going to those schools. They all had a combination of excellent ec's, some with athletics, and most had amazing personalities that I'm sure shined in their essays and interviews.

btw, anyone know if there is a difference between A's and A-'s in the college process?

sinbad - I'd say minimal. Even at the very top colleges, for most people true distinctions will come from extracurriculars (I say 'for most' because some people will be remarkable academically, i.e. found the cure for ____, Superawesomeatmath Math Competition champion 4 years in a row...) and a glance over your reports, GPA, SAT scores are used to gain a holistic (unless you're applying to UCs) impression of your academic ability.

Put another way, if it came down to you, with an A- in Chemistry and another student with an A in Chemistry, they wouldn't comb through your grades to distinguish you two from there; they'd go look at your ECs (you: Student Body President, him: Student Body >> you win!).

for the OP-

1600 800 800 800/ no GPA (est. 3.9 UW) : Pton, Yale
1540 800 800 800 800 800 / no GPA (est. 4.0 UW): waitlisted at Harvard
1470 800 800 740/ no GPA (est 3.9 UW): Pton
1350 (don't know SATIIs)/ no GPA (est. 3.7 UW): Brown

I am posting stats for those I know at my school:

Accepted or Waitlisted to an Ivy:
1340/3.9 (uw) 4.2 (w) gpa: Accepted ED to Columbia. Tip factor is urm status. He wrote a fantastic essay.

1330/4.0(uw) 4.4(w) gpa: Accepted to Columbia RD and Princeton RD. Tip factor is urm status. Has participated and decidicated his time avidly to our school's choir.

1530/4.0 (uw) 4.5 (w) gpa: Accepted to Harvard RD, but rejected at UPenn RD. Has no tip factors.

1470/3.9 (uw) 4.3 (w) gpa: Waitlisted at Columbia RD, and I believe he was also waitlisted at Cornell RD and UPenn RD. Doesn't have tip factors, however, he wrote a really good essay.

1290/3.9 (uw) 4.1 (w) gpa: Accepted into Cornell RD. Tip factor is urm status. He's won awards at our school.

1350/3.8 (uw) 4.2 (w) gpa: Accepted into Columbia ED. Tip factor is recruited athlete.

1350/3.4 (w) 3.7 (w) gpa: Accepted into Harvard RD. Tip factor is recruited Athlete.

Rejected from ivies:

1500/4.0 (uw) 4.4 (w) gpa: Rejected at UPenn RD, Cornell RD, Columbia RD, and Harvard RD. No tip factors. After reading his essay, it was good, but not "stellar." However, he does have a lot of EC's.

1530/4.0 (uw) 4.3 (w) gpa: Rejected at Harvard. His tip factor was talent. He is classically trained with the piano. Everyone thought he was going to get into Harvard, but he didn't.

1410/3.8-3.9 (uw) 4.2 (w) gpa: Rejected at Princeton RD. He was also rejected at Stanford RD(though Stanford isn't an IVY, it is just as good by any standard). Doesn't have any tip factors.

900/3.3 (w) 3.7 (uw) gpa: Rejected at Cornell RD and Columbia RD. Tip factor is urm status.

1200/3.3 (w) 3.8 (uw) gpa: Rejected at Cornell RD, UPenn RD, and Columbia RD. Tip factor is urm status.

1400/3.8 (w) 4.2 (uw) gpa: Rejected at Dartmouth RD and Brown RD. Has no tip factors. Quite a bit of EC's.

1290/3.7 (w) 3.9 (uw) gpa: Rejected at Columbia ED. Tip factor is legacy, but still didn't get in.

1500/4.0 (w) 4.3 (w) gpa: Rejected at Cornell RD. Tip factor is legacy.

1410/4.0 (w) 4.4 (uw) gpa: Rejected at Princeton RD. No tip factors.

There are many more people who I should have mentioned, but I can't think of any more.

Someone with a 900 SAT applied to Cornell and Columbia? Haha.

HHO5, yes. A guy I know at my school applied to Cornell and Columbia with a 900 SAT Score. People thought that he was going to get into both schools because of his urm status. I, on the other hand, did not think he was going to get into those schools. He even thought he was going to get in. However, he was rejected.

good for you!

there's a site that has a database of applicants (self-reported, obviously) and their stats, but of course CC filters prevent me from mentioning them.

From my school, one of them includes me. No GPAs or class ranks:

1520/800/790/750 Accepted: Columbia, Upenn, Cornell, Dartmouth
Rejected: Harvard, Princeton
1470/760/740/710 Accepted: Brown
Rejected: UPenn, Harvard, Dartmouth
1360/740/710/690 Rejected: Columbia, Upenn, Cornell, Harvard, Yale
1420/780/750/740 Rejected: Columbia, Upenn
1410/740/690/650 Rejected: Harvard, Princeton, Columbia, Upenn,
Cornell, Brown,
1310/760/740/710 Rejected: Columbia, Upenn
1240/740/680/620 Rejected: Upenn

sdma89, how did you remember all those stats, or do you have it recorded somewhere? I only know 4 other people's SAT scores, and none of their GPA.

Me...Harvard and Penn Huntsman, waitlist columbia and princeton
Stats:
1540/800/780/720 Gpa. 3.92 UW 4.65 W, rank 11/313 uw, 1/313 w

althought i think its safe to say that high scores are common and aren't enough to get you anywhere without something else. Once you pass a certain threshold, I think stats become less and less important

Sdma89, so of the many who were rejected at ivies from your school, where are they going instead?

1560/800/800/800 3.9 gpa accepted by Harvard and Princeton (as well as MIT and Caltech)
1590/800/800/800 4.0 harvard, Stanford, Yale, Princeton, some other ivy leagues. (not sure)
1570/800/800/800 4.0 Yale, Harvard, some other ivy leagues. (not sure.)
1550/800/800/800 4.0 Princeton RD. Rejected MIT EA, UPenn.
1600/800/800/800 4.0 Upenn, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth. Waitlisted by Harvard, rejected by Yale and Princeton.

A lot of other people at my school are got into MIT, Stanford, Caltech, Dartmouth, Brown, and UPenn, but I don't know their stats.

I got a 1550 on the SAT's plus 2 800's and a 740 on the SAT II's. Got into UPenn, waitlisted at Harvard, and rejected at Princeton

From those that I mentioned in an earlier post who were rejected, they are going to Georgetown, Boston College, USC, Clemson, and the University of Virginia, and Duke.

Suburbian, I know their stats because I talk to those students that I mentioned above basically everday at school, so we exchanged stats and such. Also, during the whole college application process in the fall, everyone at my school was talking about their stats to others, and where they were applying. Hence, a lot of people were making their guesses on where other people were going to get in or get rejected or waitlisted. It got pretty hectic. I have a good memory, and when people told me their stats and gpas, I remembered them (not purposely but because I remember things in general). I also remembered the schools that they applied to. And when people got accepted or rejected earlier this month, their news spread across the whole class.

I had

1580, 800/800/800/800, 3.98 GPA; accepted: Yale RD, Columbia RD, Dartmouth RD, Brown RD (also MIT RD, Williams College RD); waitlisted: Harvard (after deferred).

Some other ppl in my school i know of vaguely:
3.98, 1530, SAT IIs in mid-high 700s; accepted: Yale EA (Williams College RD); rejected: Harvard.

about 3.6 GPA, 1400s? SATs, same deal w/ SATIIs; accepted: Dartmouth ED

close to 4.0 GPA, 1400 SATs (better ACTs), good as well as mediocre SAT IIS; accepted: MIT (EA); rejected: Caltech ED

close to 4.0 GPA, 13-1400s SATs; same SAT IIS; rejected: Dartmouth; waitlisted: Brown.

2 guys w/ mediocre grades/SATs (at BEST 12-1300s) accepted at Cornell; one is legacy, another is very rich (dad donates money) and white S. African but put "African American" on app

me:
1480, 800/790/730 , 3.86 gpa; Accepted: Yale RD,Harvard RD, Princeton RD, MIT RD
Waitlisted: Columbia RD
Rejected: Stanford (deferred EA)
Asian Male

My friend:
1600, 800/800/800, 4.0: Accepted: Columbia ED

Accepted RD: HYP, Stanford (though I know its not an ivy...)
Rejected RD: Columbia

1510 (36 ACT), 800-780-770 4.0 GPA UW- good essays, ECs

Yeah, what's up with Columbia?

1500/800/780/780/4.0

Accepted RD: HYP, Brown
Waitlisted RD: Columbia

Everyone I know got waitlisted (not rejected) from Columbia. Maybe it's like Tufts? (not to attack Columbia I really have no idea what actually is going on there...)
