Ivy League Undergrad Quality without the elitism

Generally, I agree. That’s why a standard CBA will often come down in favor of the cheaper school over the Ivy. Exceptions might include those who want to go into some areas of finance or consulting that recruit from a small set of selective schools.

Do you have any evidence indicating that students from Ivies are more likely to get jobs than those with equivalent degrees and abilities from other schools?

In the U.S. News Rankings, Miami of Ohio is ranked 8th for the best undergraduate teaching amongst national universities. Does anyone believe this to be thoroughly accurate? (Maybe this is just my perception, but I always believed Miami of Ohio to be generally mediocre in the aspect of undergraduate academic, along with the University of Buffalo and Ball State. However, the honors program at Miami of Ohio is said to be quite enlightening. Am I incorrect in this presumption? Have I been mislead?)

My evidence is purely anecdotal, but all around me are top school grads with jobs and non top school grads without. A caveat is I do see top school grads taking jobs they may not have in a better eonomy.
