I go to University of Pennsylvania and am thinking about Brown. I study Near Eastern Lang&Civ at Penn and would like to go to Brown’s Egyptology dpt. The only thing I’m worried about is having to retake standardized tests. My ACTs are great in the reading and grammar sections, but a mess in science and math, my composite being 28. Other than that I feel like an ideal fit. I was able to get into one ivy league with those crap scores. Is transferring from ivy to ivy somewhat easier? I will consider redoing my ACT if I have to. Another note, I will be applying for aid and I know unfortunately Brown has to be need-aware for that. Thank you!
Transferring from ivy to ivy is easier. You should retake your ACT to boost those scores up, because they’d like to see that you improved.
Some questions you should consider is how impacted the Egyptology dept is, and how many transfer students they admit. If your college grades are stellar, your ACT score will matter much less.
