How important are ACT/SAT scores for ivy transfers?

Hi guys,

So, here's my situation: I am currently a graduating senior. I got a 32 on my ACT and am going to graduate either 2nd or 3rd of my class of 400 students. I had a multitude of leadership positions in various club and activities, and I was/am an active student. I applied to the ivies like any student in my position would, and as you might imagine, got rejected from the ones I applied to. I'm planning to go to NYU next fall (2013) and I'm excited to go, albeit the sadness that comes from ivy rejections. Anyway, I've read on the ivy admissions sites that ACT/SAT scores are needed even for transfers, and so my question is this: how much emphasis is put on ACT/SAT scores for transfers? As you might have noticed, my ACT isnt the best.

Thanks to anyone who can help me solve this dilemma.

Also a little disclaimer. No, I am not actively planning to transfer out of NYU. This is an avenue I am clearly willing to take if I decide to, but I'm not walking into NYU with a single goal of transferring. (This is for those of you who have an urge to defend NYU. I dont hate NYU; I just want to know my chances).

Anyway, any help would be great, and if you yourself don't have anything to say but you know someone who could help, feel free to send this to them.

Thx

High school grades and test scores will be important if you attempt any transfer from first year into second because only first semester freshman grades will be available when the decision is made. They will have much less importance if attempting to transfer from sophomore into junior year when you will have three semesters of college grades to present with the application.
