ivys/rank/essays

In ranking order, which Ivy League schools cares least about high rank/perfect GPAs, more on the SAT and personal stuff/essays?

I don't know if this is true but I hear that Cornell and Brown are the most into "people" qualities out of all the Ivies. And Stanford while not an Ivy also has a good rep for choosing canidates based on personality/ECs and all that good stuff. Again, don't know if any of it is true, but it's what I hear.

why don't you look at their common data set and see how they personally ranked it instead of gathering common opinion?

because I want to see it based on ppls opinions, not statistics

because the ivys are "random"

All of them value high rank and high GPAs, sorry.

However, it is easier to gain admission into lower Ivies such as Cornell or U Penn with a lower GPA, since they are less selective overall.

sarorah: Looking at common data set doesn't really help either, as they will probably rank the admissions criteria the same. GPA will always be regarded as "very important."

What about HYPS?

It's not statistics, it's the college's hardcore opinion that doesn't change from year to year . . anyway if you don't have a good GPA/rank at any of the colleges you mentioned, the rest of the app is not regarded with as much interest unless you have a special case going on for you.

None, they all rank equally with the numbers; if they are not there there is no point in admission bar a major hook, such as insane money donation, athletics, and the like. Then the subjective aspects will be considered; some colleges put emphasis in differing places, like Dartmouth goes after the recommendations the heaviest.

urm enough?

yeah unfortunately URM is considered a special case, even though it's kids like SOME PEOPLE that will take advantage and doesn't help the real kids in need anyway . . . aren't you a kid with a doctor dad going to some really good medical-oriented high school?

I'm going to a medical magnet school....but I live with my mom who is a 4th grade teacher

my parents are divorced (my dad is a pilot)
