Jag

Although currently I'm thinking very very hard about Aerospace/Systems engineering, I'm very much interested in the Law field and becoming a JAG officer as that career path is what I would have definitely chosen if I graduated from a civilian school. I just want some insight as to how to become one(the steps), how likely one can become a JAG officer and would anyone ever recommend the path.

It's been a while since my first Naval Science course in which we went over things like this. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't JAG a Restricted Line path?

If it is, then it won't be an option upon graduation, unless you're medically disqualified from Unrestricted Line (Warfare) jobs.

Yep. Restricted line.

I don't recall seeing any graduate go into the JAG corps, but that's worth what you paid for it.

You may want to check out the JAG website (they have to have one), and see if they have any specific information there.

From what I've heard, the Navy prefers the jags to go to civillian colleges on their own dime and then enter the Navy as a officer. I heard that JAGs from USNA are rare.

I also saw from USNA website that intelligence is also restricted line path. Is this also true?

Well, I'm stretching the memory a bit here, but I'm almost certain that's true.

The unrestricted lines are SWO, Pilot, NFO, SEAL, and Subs (at a minimum). Don't know if any changes have been made to add to the list beyond any I've forgotten.
