James Madison or Elon?

I was recently accepted to both, and I don't know where to go. Are there any students who can give me some insight into either?

I would say look into which school has a better program for your major? Also, visit both of the campuses and see which campus ‘clicks’ with you if you haven’t already.

I recommend posting this over on the Elon thread as well…

as the above poster said, what is your intended major? etc… have you visited both schools?

Sorry, I should have further explain in my first post. Anyway, I am going in undeclared, because I seriously have no idea what I want to do with my life. Haha Anyway, I have visited both, but I never got that, “Oh my gosh, I love this school!” feeling, you know? I know both schools are good academically, and I like the size of both, so yeah.

I was accepted into JMU and visited Elon and decided not to apply. Personally, I hated Elon and I found the school to be almost like parents to you. They will help you and push you along until you are ready to be by yourself. Elon is also very small compared to JMU. When I visited JMU I fell in love. I’d suggest if you haven’t visited either to visit both and make your decision.

You also need to consider the sizes of Elon vs. JMU. Elon (one of the schools I was considering) is very small, and there wasn’t a lot going on Fridays and weekends (and I visited at peak time). JMU is more active, I feel, and we’re a bigger school in student population, so there’s more opportunities to meet new people and get involved. And regarding majors, we’re larger, so we have more majors and more chances for you to get your feet wet and then decide what you want to do. Elon is more limited due to the fact that they only have 3,000-4,000 students, so keep that in mind. I hope you have the best of luck with the rest of your acceptances (and I hope you pick JMU, but I’m biased because I love it so much!)
