D posted a 78% (79/57/89) (a great improvement from the 65 on 12/9).

She wants to attend either Brooks School or Governor's as a Day Student.

She also applied to Exeter (parents #1 choice) ... but she really does not like the school as much as the others which are less imposing and scary.

From those with experience ... what are her chances of getting accepted to Brooks, GDA or Exeter as a day student? Is a 78% good enough? What about Exeter as a day student? Her other stats are "good": A+, (4) sports, arts, awards, service, etc.

Just curious on the perspective of others. I'm very impressed with those of you with 90%+ scores .. because she worked very hard to get the 78. Good luck to all.

Congratulations to your daughter! :)

She is probably a match for Governor's and Brooks, but I doubt she will have the same chances at Exeter. They are extremely competitive, and I have nothing against your daughter - I do not know her personally - but from Exeter's competition with Andover to "beat" them and their extremely high standards, I don't believe your daughter will make the cut unless she has an extreme hook, especially as a day student.

Congratulations on the big improvement!
She certainly should be in the running for GDA and Brooks. I have no clue about Exeter -- it will depend on the other day applicants. My son attends a school with 435 students. He has only been there for a few months, and already so many faculty, staff and students (even 12th graders) know him. I'm guessing it's not like that at a large school. And at GDA and Brooks, your daughter can be in the top 20% of her class if she applies herself. I think it would be difficult to do that at Exeter.
Good luck!
