January 2010 - Bio

The test is imminent. Let's review!

I'll start by explaining the Krebs cycle. The Krebs cycle, aka the citric acid cycle, is the first part of aerobic cellular respiration. It produces some ATP and CO2.

Anyone want to explain the Calvin cycle?

discussion.

Hard as hell.

so hard… whatd u get for the protease in the lungs one?
i put pnemounia.

that was pretty hard. why so many experiments collegeboard?

ridiculously hard. are we allowed to post about questions?
i thought we had to wait until the “embargo” is lifted…when does the west coast finish, by the way?

Why not? They require more skill than factual knowledge.

pretty hard

man I hate the bio curve. Didnt it used to be more generous than -2 for a min 800? Like a few years ago wasnt it like -4?

It seems that I am not the only one who found it hard(also many experiment and graph questions).
What’s the curve for +700 ?

I self-studied using Barron’s and SparkNotes.

Word of advice: Barron’s and SparkNotes do not suffice!

^
exactly, there were questions about stuff that I studied years ago in school but couldn’t review from either Barron’s or Sparknotes

Personally for me, this one was better than when I took it in January of last year. Princeton worked fine for me for the questions today.

Embargo lifted. I can’t remember anything though hah…

can we go over questions now.

fire away!

umm. the abdomen for the insect = reproductive and digestion?
M was harder i think i shouldve taken e

E was hard as hell, though I’m sure M was as well. Barron’s has that diagram of the insect, but it doesn’t go over what the test asked…

i agree. i found all the stuff i studied for in barrons and PR didnt really show up. was it just me or did i get a lot of i,ii, iii?

oh yea, wat was the one about why you could/couldnt eat leaves/bark?

humans can’t digest cellulose?

Wow…I considered taking Bio today, I’m halfway through AP Bio right now, but was too exhausted after Physics and Math II, so I cut and run after two tests. Sounds like that was a good decision, I wouldn’t want to have gotten below 600 or something and had to cancel all my scores.
