January 2010 SAT Results Thread

CR:800
M:740
W:800 (80/10)
2340
Dammit, how did I mess up so much on the math??? sigh
At least I already have two sections done so if I don’t get 2400 next time it will still be 2400 superscored…
but sheesh, how many stupid mistakes can a person make? :(

I’m from Vietnam and people here often say above 2000 is enough. But after I come here, at CC, I doubt it.

680 CR (blah!)
800 M
780 W (78MC 9 E) =DDD

retaking anyway (already signed up) and a 2300+ superscore looking soooo doable right now! Dang vocab. Is direct hits the consensus best book for vocab?

Again, it really depends on what school you’re applying to. I’m not familiar with the statistics of Vietnam but I’m guessing the figure you were given was based on the scores of the applicants from your country, since there is a quota-like system per nation, as there is per school.

It’s always best to get the highest score possible, and usually +100 what people tell you would be a good range.

CR: 590
M: 800
W: 650

total: 2040

it was my first time taking it with limited studying so I guess im pretty happy but does anyone have any good advice on raising the CR?

whoo!
720 CR
770 Math
790 Writing(10 Essay)(78 MC)
2280!!!

CR:560
M:800
W:640
i was expect at least 600 on CR according to the consolidated answer.

CR: 750
M: 730
W: 700 (MC 69, E 9)

2170

Very pleased overall. Thought I might have done a little better on writing but that’s ok. I went up 100 points on Critical Reading, so I’m very happy about that.

I don’t know how to quote on here, but in response to silverturtle–I checked my answers with the consolidated list a day or two after the test, and found that I had made two mistakes, both of them sentence completion (which is ironic, as vocab has always been my strong point). Unless I made a bubbling error or one of the consolidated answers is wrong (which I highly doubt), then that would mean -2=790. Ah well.

Congrats on the 2400, by the way!

800 800 800 :open_mouth:
essay 11, multiple 78

wasn’t exactly expecting that !

go int’l!

special thx to the grammar help posts hehe

One of the consolidated answers could be wrong, and silverturtle and everyone else could still have gotten the score they got.

Another explanation is that the curve was harsher this time, and -1 yielded an 800. Historically this is unlikely, but again historically, this is not impossible.

Whoot 2400 count up to 4! Do we rock or do we rock?

^ Okay, that irritates me a little. I got 78 MC as well, but my essay was an 8. I could have gotten 800 for W! Aargh. My time management under pressure SUCKS.

CR 800
Math 800
Writing 800 (11 essay 78 subscore)

2400!

IM SOOO HAPPY

congrats 2015princeton!

CR: 680
M: 730
W: 600(8 essay)
Composite: 2010, how ironic. I’m gonna have to pull my writing score waaay up.

5 2400s? Wow. I hope that means we’re a smart pool and not that there were a record number of 2400s in the world this month…

CR: 800
M: 770 Does anyone know what the curve was?
W: 710. Yuck, but I got a 9 on my essay, and I hate timed writing, so that went better than I thought.

I’ll take it.
Interestingly, my PSAT score this year was 229, with CR 800, M 790, and W 710. That’s impressively consistent :)

770 means -1.

jhwu me too haha

Where can I find my essay score?!?!

12 essay with a 63 MC for Writing :(

total 2230.
