January 2011 Sat Curve

^i hope your right

Hi, I took the SAT 1 January Test, and I feel like I’ve done a
-3, 1 omit for the CR
and
1 omit for the math.
Can anyone tell me where that will put me on the score range? (with the predicted curve…?)

Out of curiosity, I entered this thread and read a bit about SAT curves of the past.

What I don’t understand is: How can the international SAT curve (the international SAT is different from the SAT taken in the USA, I can assure you, I’ve researched this matter a lot) be A LOT harsher than the normal SAT curve.

I took the SAT in October 2010 and I had 3 mistakes and no omits in the CR section and scored 740. No curve that I have seen around here is so harsh.

Aren’t we internationals supposed to be less proficient in English? Shouldn’t the curve be milder? And no, the test was probably not easier than the one taken in the USA. I found it to be similar in difficulty to the ones in the blue book, but with some questions that really left me disconcerted.

they **** over internationals on the SAT in general. the NMSQT qualifying for international semi finalists is a 223 where the average in most states is like a 213 ish or so and the highest requirement is a 221. furthermore, the CB is aware that some of the international tests are repeats and therefore some of the questions have leaked out to the general test taking public.

paper planes
CR-750/760
M- 770/780
W- You never specified
1530 + W score
I’d put your max score at a 2340 and your minimum score at a 2320.

@boogaloony: the Jan 2010 U.S. CR curve was 750 for three wrong, so while your curve was certainly very harsh, it wasn’t out of the realm of possibility. The curves depend on the difficulty of the test; no other factors come into play, including any consideration of leaks etc.

When are the Jan SAT scores posted?

^In 9 days. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to wait, especially since I have the flu and its all I can do is think about how awful I did.

I found the reading pretty easy, I know I missed a few here and there but the math KILLED me! There were so many graphs (my geometry teacher cried and made string art until, 8 months into the school year, she was fired and replaced with a substitute so my geometry skills are seriously lacking) and I’ve always had trouble with the more difficult functions so here’s to hoping the curve was generous (which it never is for math).

I’m sick also and the wait is driving me insane…I, too, found the reading fairly easy and the math a little more difficult–not ideal considering the expected curves.

i know 8 days left
