@Science2014
A did not equal 1. The parabola’s roots were -2.5 and -1.5 if I recall which would make a>1 because it is steeper than a normal one.

It’s definitely lacking. The context said the Americans had bad reasons for war after the official reasons were reviewed the guy said they were “wanting” meaning needed more reason to go to war, so they LACKED reason to go to war.

The original sentence was something like this:
After the official reasons for war were reviewed, {some guy} decided that they were -wanting- (aka LACKING)

For the last fixing sentences question, what was the answer to the one that said, “the books sold as many books…” or was that the experimental?

That was experimental I believe

That was not experimental. I know because I had experimental math, and I still had that question.

yeah i had reading experimental and had that, i chose the choice that was like “the bookstore sold three times as many books as it…” might’ve ended like “…sold last year” don’t remember

Do any of you guys remember what numbers were the no errors in the writing section? Also in the improving paragraph, what did you guys get for the last question?? something like “by using modern device…”???

i got 3 no errors and yeah–something about “using modern devices…”

@Science2014, what was the problem with the answer A=1?

If you want a good SAT prep for your phone check out Arcadia Prep’s app. They have answer guides and discussion forums for every question.

in the writing section, “debate with” thats an incorrect idiom right? Also, in the improving paragraphs, what did you guys get for the question (I think it was #32) which asked what to put before the paragraph 2…i got something like “blah blah outspoken…”

Does anyone remember the math question in which one of the answers was (r+4)-(r+6) or something like that?

@testtaker77 yes, “debate with” is an incorrect idiom

For the parabola question…
It passes the x axis at -1.5 and -2.5, so the roots are 1.5 and 2.5
so the equation is y = a(x+1.5)(x+2.5)
substitute the known point, the vertex (-2,-1)
-1 = a(-2+1.5)(-2+2.5) = a(-.5)(.5)
a = -1 / -.25 = 4
So the correct answer is a > 1

The “debate with” question was really something like “debate about” right? Debate with certainly doesn’t seem to make sense to me in any example.

And finally a good reason why my choosing a>1 was a good idea haha

The debate with was wrong because they weren’t debating with someone else but rather over a topic so it shouldn’t be “with”

@infrapr0ds the correct answer had “as” in the second part I think because they were making a comparison…

yeah i included an as: “the bookstore sold three times as many books as it…” might’ve ended like “…sold last year”

i think it was “the bookstore sold three times as many books as they sold last year”
the “they” was incorrect b/c bookstore is singular

FOR THE SAT WRITING STARS question:
That there were an infinite number of star…

what was the error?
