January 2013 SAT Score Question!!!

Hello CC. Really need your advice in this scenario. I know there is a thread for January scores but this is a pretty specific question.

Here was my scoring break down: (first time taking the SAT)

2210

M: 750
W: 750
CR: 710

So, in the many, many practice tests I have done, I have never scored a 750 in math before. My 750 in writing was very high for me as well. However, my reading score could probably be boosted 30-40 points. Could it potentially hurt me were I to take the SAT again and score possibly lower in Math and Writing but boost my reading score? Or do colleges just look at the overall highest scores? Additionally, I am not a particularly strong math/science person- but is the ACT a worthwhile try as well? Thanks!!!

Check the schools you’re applying to. If they superscore, go for it. If they don’t, I wouldn’t bother.

I’m going through a very similar thing right now :frowning: I’m sticking with the SAT, though.

no don’t, it sounds like you got really lucky this time and all sat scores above 2200 are about the same if you have a better gpa than many people

Thanks guys for the responses! Definitely not going to take again.
