Math I - 800
Math II - 800

The french exam was messed up.

I’m a native French speaker from Qu

@eldo_kim: Why did you take both of them? Most schools will only take just one of the two.

Uh, that’s a lie. lol…

Most high-end colleges KNOW and appreciate that Math 1 is difficult, not in terms of difficulty level of the questions, but rather because the curve is ****. If you miss 1, it’s 790. Miss 10, and it’s a 700. To get a 800, you pretty much have to answer all 50 questions right.

And there’s no “only take just one of the two”. You send them scores, and the admissions officers read the scores. They don’t go “Oh, you can only send x and y SAT scores”

Chem: 710 -_____-

If I were aiming for an 800, then I should retake a 710, right? I was planning to keep if it was 750+, is 710 really that far from it?

And, does anyone know the curve for chem? Just a relative number.

610 BIO
600 LIT
720 MATH II

… and applying to Ivies :(

Anyone here did French? Is it just me or was it messed up? (Or maybe I’m just a disgrace to my province? LOL

Chill @ Bassplayer08.

Hopefully it’ll be okay. I didn’t do that well either.

Lit: 700
Math 2: 760
Chemistry: 670

I’m kinda freaked. Is the Chem really going to hurt? I have a 2350 on my SAT.

Are 700s considered good enough for most schools(not ivys)?
My scores:
Chem 750
Bio M 710
Math lvl 1 720

Yeah, I think 700s are fine.

Math Level 2: 800
Math Level 1: 740

This is bizarre. =

Officially the ones to be sent off:

Math 2: 800
Physics: 800
Chemistry: 720 (dang, broke the nice harmony of 800s, but I only take Chem SL at IB so meh…)

One’s I’m not sending in:
Lit: 640 (no preparation, just took it because I could)
French: 610 (damn that paper was hard)

My son took French. Terrible result. He went into the test last month thinking he had a chance at an 800; he’s in AP French and he’s in his fifth year of the language.

He told me after the test that he didn’t come close to finishing and had to guess at many answers because he just didn’t know the words used. He took the CollegeBoard practice subject test under test conditions and scored in the mid-700s. The real thing was nothing like the practice test. He said today that it was more like something for a student who’d had four years of college French.

Math 2 - 800

Taking Latin in June, and if I need a third one… I don’t know what it’ll be.

Math 2 - 800
Physics - 650

Not bad considering I had less than 2 weeks to prep for physics. A year out of learning mechanics, so i had to review all that. As well as not ever learning nuclear physics, modern physics, and magnetism.

How does this look for a kid planning to major in engineering?

Math 2 - 800

Taking Latin in June, and if I need a third one… I don’t know what it’ll be.

jdalu75, I can sympathize with your son. I’m in IB French SL (similar to AP French), scored 730 in the practice test and got a 610 in the real thing (ouch!)

I just found the paper to be way harder than what I’ve dealt with before, and to think that an 800 is in the 90th percentile is pretty crazy - is this due to native speakers? I’m getting 7s in IB French papers, yet I can’t break 700 in SAT French. WTH?!

Anyway, I’m definitely not sending French…

800 SAT Bio M

Math I- 800
Math II- 800

Ya, I know it was weird to take both, but I really wanted to maximize my chances of getting at least one 800, and Barron’s obviously prepared me well enough! Anyways, I needed a bit more time to study for the upcoming Physics (and possibly American History) I’m hoping to study for. Slightly off topic, but does anyone know what the typical curve for Physics is?

whooo celebration time-680 in chem w/ less than half of the topics covered in class.

I was predicting a 450-540 and even sent a letter to colleges explaining that I had to take it w/ 1/3 of the topics covered…so this is a very pleasant surprise indeed.
