January SAT?

I’d like to retake my SAT and SAT Subject tests, but I don’t believe I can prepare well enough for this upcoming November date.
The colleges I’m concerned about improving my score for say that they accept the SAT through January. I would be taking the SAT Is and SAT IIs in December and January, though not necessarily respectively. However, I’m worried about how this will be perceived. Does it seem as though I’m pushing things off until the very last minute, and as a result, speak poorly of me as a student? Or do they accept January SAT dates just as well as they accept earlier ones?

I don’t think it will speak poorly of you at all. I’m sure your colleges understand that you wanted to be well prepared. You’ve also already taken the SAT and subject tests, so it isn’t like you are taking it for the first time on the last test date. They never know if you have conflicts with the other test dates, which is why there are so many test dates to choose from in the first place. Take them in december and January when you’ll be better prepared and not stressed out that it is coming up so soon!
