Jews at St. Paul's...

Well, has anyone heard of a Jewish person going to St. Paul's?

Which St. Paul's are you talking about?

I'm not catholic but i was homeschooled with a catholic program. i just wouldn't tell them i'm jewish. you dont have to. it's optional info, right?

To my certain knowledge, St. Paul's has a rabbi on its pastoral team and an active Hillel program

Oh...well, all i know is that it is a school for Epsicopals.

you might want to inform yourself a bit better on the history of the US prep schools. St. Paul's was conceived in the model of Rugby/Eton as was Groton. They still evoke a sense of what education ought to be about--formative rather than instrumental and if that is 'episcopalian' so much the better as there are things in the episcopal tradition that seem to me rather worthwhile. Anyway, if anything episcopalians are somewhat thin on the ground at St. Paul's, I would doubt they would constitute even 10% of the present student population.

there are jews at st pauls (one right here typing...) and there is a group on campus and they perform skits in chapel around hannukah and threw a dance this year

So.....how would you be able to tell.....I mean is it a certain look, or feather pattern or nesting behavior....just how do you identify this species?

are you asking how you idetify who is jewish and who isnt?

I don't know why identifying is even at issue.....a diverse population should include more than just anglo/christian/new englanders and from what i have seen st paul's does have a diverse population.

yeah its really diverse...i was confused at your initial question "So.....how would you be able to tell.....I mean is it a certain look, or feather pattern or nesting behavior....just how do you identify this species?" i wasnt sure at what you were asking.

sarcasm rules are CC

Gee I thought that was pretty nice considering we are talking about religious identity. My point is that how does one tell a cardinal from a bluebird and how would one know from looking whether that bird is of a certain religion? I didn't know that this would be asked on CC. Next it will be the "don't ask don't tell question".......or maybe IQ.....how we get into all of this???

Hazmat- I was responding to heartinsf who did not get what you were saying...I agree with you...once, there was another poster who was aksing this question in the college section, I reported them...they were talkng about black, hispanics, etc, and they were very offensive. I am wondering if this is the same person.

By sacrasm rules, I meant, sometimes people don't get others posts, and you were correct, but I found what you said funny in that it dealt with the original op's questions with wit. Sorry if I misunderstood.

im really confused...i wasnt trying to be offensive in anyway

you weren't heartsinsf!!!! the original op probably was!!

ohhhhhhhhhh okay. phewwww.
