I heard that JHU was not good for undergrad becuase profs only care about research and grad level students. I aslo heard that they don't give a damn about undergrad freshman-juniors.

Johns Hopkins is a leading research university, but is much smaller than its peer institutions like Michigan, Stanford, Harvard and Berkeley.

Hopkins enrolls about 1070 freshmen (enrolled about 850 a decade ago). The student faculty ratio is 9:1. More than half of the classes have fewer than 20 students. There is no core curriculum and it's easy to change majors in Arts & Sciences or Engineering (except BME). There are plenty of opportunities for independent research projects and there is free academic advising and tutoring for those who seek it. To generalize about all professors at any college is kind of unfair. I'm sure some professors enjoy teaching undergraduates more than others. At Hopkins, professors generally enjoy sharing their research discoveries with their students. Undergrads benefit from learning from accomplished scholars who are up to date in their disciplines.
