Hey, I live in Florida and am surrounded by bhangra competitions especially from UF and UM. I want to be on the JHU Bhangra team and do a bit of competitions - like Bhangra Blowout at GW. For those of you already at JHU could you tell me more about it and those of you that are hyped up like me just hit me up.

I know a girl who's on an Indian dance team, and she went to Bhangra Blowout a few weeks ago. There are plenty of opportunities to join during Orientation - they're always looking for new members.

nice...bhangra team. That's awesome. Well, Hopkins is gonna start winning many competitions once I arrive. ;-) haha

Hey Merudh123, we should keep in touch. I goin crazy just thinking about the bhangra. Where are you from?

nj haha...you?

TAMPA! I've been doing India Fest competitions here and hope I can get on the team there.

dude...hopkins needs us. Looking forward to meeting with at you hopkins.

hey sgandhi, the bhangra team at hopkins is pretty good rite now and went to several competitions this year but they do need more team members, especially this coming year since the main choreographer is a graduating senior so you should definitely try out, they'll probably have tryouts in the first few weeks before classes start getting somewhat hard, my roommate's on the team so i can tell u it takes a lot of time commitment... especially before competitions such as bhangra blowout b/c they were literally practicing 5 hours every other day but if you're devoted i'm sure you'll do fine on the team, gl and hope that helps!

are there any indian music groups on campus? im very into indian music.. (been learning and playing all my life).. and well i know its not the most popular of music forms.. still i thought id just check :)

When I went to visit I met students there that where on the Indian dance teams. There are many for: Pop music, Raas, and Bhangra. I think you have to try out for those teams.
