@bonee26 From what I have been reading it caps the students loan at $5,000 dollars for your four undergrad years.

I got a JHU Grant, it’s not guaranteed for all 4 years so it makes me really nervous…

Accepted BME
2300 SAT
3.97 UW GPA

Accepted to JHU and Wash U, but rejected from NU and waitlisted at Brown.
It’s such a completely random process…

Accepted to Hopkins!!! Very uplifting, especially after Ivy rejections.

Just goes to show that you don’t need perfect stats to get in (only 2240 SAT and rank ~20/450)

OP here. Rejected. It was my number one school. I should have applied ED. I wish I was more informed about this whole process before it was too late to change anything.

@immasenior I feel for you and agree 100% regarding knowledge of the whole process. I have been through this twice with my sons and I still feel mistakes were made. Good Luck to you.

Good luck to all the new blue jays! Can’t wait to meet you all in the fall. To those rejected/waitlisted, don’t despair! I’m confident that this time next year you’ll be totally happy at your new school and will look back on this lightly

Yeah same. Can’t wait to see you all at JHU.

Got into Johns Hopkins!! Also accepted into Washington Uni in St. Louis and NYU.

I’m in a state of euphoria; I’ve been accepted to everywhere I applied! I found CC when I was in the 7th grade and I could not have achieved this without it. Thank you, collegeconfidential!!

My consolation to those rejected and Congrats to everyone that got accepted! :D

Wait, I got a JHU grant–should I be worried if it’s not guaranteed all four years? Regardless of need?

They recalculate your need every year and as long as your income remains the same (or decreases), they won’t decrease your aid. That’s all that they mean by “not guaranteed.” It means that if you all of a sudden start earning a lot more money, then they will recalculate and decrease your aid, but as long as you’re earning around the same amount, your aid will remain the same.
