Johns Hopkins ED Class of 2022 Applicant Thread

Hey everyone! I might not be applying to JHU eaely decision but I think itll be nice getting to know others who will be doing so for admission into the class of 2022!

I’m applying ED!!

I’m planning on EDing to BME as a junior, hope it works out. My regional admissions officer was surprisingly supportive, much more than other schools. Good luck to everyone applying!

Did anyone apply for the HOME program?

I might be applying ED, too!! I’m super nervous :c

I’m applying ED for ChemE, hope everything’s fine. I’m worried ab financial aid, though

I’m applying ED for Computer Science/ Engineering Mechanics. I’m super nervous bc my profile isn’t that good :((

OMG same! Considering whether to shoot for the stars and apply to Princeton REA or go for JHU instead. Nobody from the past 5 years got in Princeton from my school but a consistent handful goes to JHU each year. (6 applicants, 2 accepts).

@Harvardgrad1023 Lol that is good enough. JHU accepts like 5-6 students from my country. And i am sure more than 200 people apply there :((

I am applying as a transfer!!

I’m applying ED for public health sciences & psychology, it’s my top choice

Applying ED for BME

Applying ED! I’m thinking neuroscience or chemE . A reach for me but I’m gonna give it my best shot lol. Does anyone want to post their stats?

I called admissions recently to ask what date ED decisions would be released and got the “mid-December” response so I asked whether they usually release on a Friday. Sounds like it often is a Friday, so my best guess is Friday, December 15. Anyone else know how things have worked in years past?

Not sure if you’re aware, @Sam-I-Am, but their website literally says decisions released by the 15th.

Thanks, @WCEdmonds!

I am applying ED for neuroscience/cognitive science. My test scores are terrible but hopefully they can look past them!!

@bionerd1299 So am I (ED for neuro)! Good luck. If you don’t mind me asking, how terrible? If it helps, I’ve heard that JHU is especially holistic when it comes to caring about passion over SATs.

My D2 is thinking about applying ED to JHU for engineering. Can anyone tell me whether, if admitted, she is admitted directly into the engineering school? Are students admitted directly into their engineering major of choice or do they have to compete to get into a specific engineering discipline on the basis of their freshman grades as is done at some schools? Thanks in advance.

@Sam-I-Am Students choose their majors at the end of freshman year if they didn’t specifically apply to the BME program. However, there are no restrictions on what one can major in.
