has anyone called jhu and asked about their app?
@Volunteerism he submitted 2 days before me
Jeez. Bad vibes-when will they let us know by?
lol i applied like august 17 and still haven’t heard anything back. i’m from the south, but does region really have anything to do with it?
I’m also super confused why we haven’t been hearing back…anyone have any updates?
I emailed them and still haven’t heard back : /
I emailed them on August 20th and received this the next day:
“Thank you for your email about HOME at Johns Hopkins University.
The HOME Team is working hard to review all of the applications we’ve received. We aim to have all decisions sent out via email by the end of September.”
The end of September is about 2 weeks before HOME. I realized I only heard back 2 weeks before for a similar program at a different college back in February. But I thought JHU would respond sooner since we are busier as seniors? Idk
someone should take the L and call them until they get a real answer
Check your emails! I just got in
Also if anyone has already applied for travel assistance what was the process like?
congrats dietcig! lol i still haven’t gotten an email welp
@dietcig I haven’t applied for travel assistance but I did receive another email from them reminding me that the program is in one month. They also gave me an itinerary. Congrats, hope to see you there!
really confused how they’re sending out decisions…if we haven’t heard back, can we assume that we’ve been rejected then? Anyone have any recent updates?
Today is the last day to apply so I am guessing final decisions will come out some time next week? They have probably been holding out on rejections until they have a chance to review all applicants and then will fill the remaining slots and send out the dreaded “we had more applicants than we could accommodate” email.
Just applied for the hell of it
When are results coming out?
Received my acceptance letter today - applied om Friday. Any idea how selective this is?
This might be stupid but do you think I could be rejected because my ACT score wasn’t high enough. I just got my new score today and I did better.
Update on the travel assistance process:
Before I applied I had asked if any travel assistance was available. I gave a short two sentence summary explaining my financial situation. After I was accepted, I replied in the same email thread and asked how to apply for travel assistance. It was automatically granted! I just confirmed my flight information today. It is a really simple process. They just want you to email them if you have any specific travel needs. For example, I have to fly in one day before and after the program because of the distance.
FYI travel assistance is also available for train tickets.
I hope you all hear back soon!
S emailed yesterday and got the stock answer about “working hard to get decisions out by the end of the month.” Since several people have reported acceptances within days of applying it seems pretty clear that those that haven’t heard will be getting rejections for the most part. Perhaps they are waiting to see how many commitments they get to see if they need to dig back into the applications they passed over before cutting everyone loose.
