Love the school that loves you back!!!
Holistic match is a two way street thus if a particular university/program seem not really interested in you then it was not meant to be. Take you talents elsewhere. In the big picture there is great overlap between top of programs and the core factor to your future success rest primarily on your attitude and actions and not the university. You are very likely to do well wherever you go.
I applied last Friday and still haven’t heard back from them. Has anyone actually received a flat-out rejection, or have they not sent out any rejections yet?
I haven’t heard a single thing from them since I turned in my application.
Does anyone know how much this helps in terms of actual admissions to Hopkins?
@Sebas514 my email said “Please note that participation in the HOME program, or lack thereof, is in no way an indicator of admissibility to Johns Hopkins University.”
@mangoeslover Yea, I saw that as well but I was hoping that participating in it would give a little boost because of the demonstrated interest. Unfortunately, it seems as if this isnt the case. Thanks for the response though
@Sebas514 the colleges say that so that people dont decide to not apply after being rejected and that people who get in arent overly confident. But upwards of 90% of those who attend fly-ins and apply to the college, get accepted.
a lot of people i know got rejected on Thursday, but I have not received any email.
@jeffrandell dang, that’s a pretty high percentage. Thanks for the info!
Today’s the last day for admitted students to confirm that they’re going, so some rejection/acceptance emails should be coming out soon.
did anyone get a fee waiver from hopkins through applying for this?
@mangoeslover Yes, if you went to the program they should’ve sent you an email yesterday (I believe) with the waiver code.
