Which is better for pre-med/college experience? I really wanted to do JHU BME, but I didn't get in. But I'm liking their Biophysics program. On the other hand, Penn's bioengineering is really good. But the question remains, premed?

If you're most concerned about getting into a good medical school and you don't have a strong background/interest in higher level math and physics, then you might want to reconsider doing any sort of undergraduate engineering major, especially BME.

That said, both schools will offer you a great undergraduate experience, so it's really down to what YOU prefer based on visits and the kind of financial aid each school gives you. If JHU gave you no money and Penn gave you a bunch more aid (or the other way around), then I would definitely base the decision off financial means.

Visit both and see where you feel at home. Penn is 2x the size of Hopkins at the undergraduate level and can feel impersonal. There are also 12 graduate schools on the same campus so it packs nearly 21,000 into an 8 block radius.

Hopkins is small, but intense (it's like an altoid really) and there is a strong community atmosphere which loves to learn and loves lacrosse. You can't go wrong, but visit both for fit reasons.
