Hi everyone, I got wait listed. It is so hard yes to any other college/university than JMU. Im in love with everything at JMU. It is so hard to picture myself not going their. Im from New Hampshire and i’m going to send my online school transcripts, my 3rd quarter grades, my college essay (that i never put in my app), and probably a recommendation. If i am accepted to James Madison University I will be the happiest person EVER.

Hey Kelsey, I am a freshmen from NH as well and as you saw before I was waitlisted myself last year. You are taking all the steps plus additional steps that I had not taken. Good luck,

Got off the list today guys!!! literally busted into tears haha.

And if they are accepting people before the May 1st deadline then there probably going to take a lot of people off the list this year, good luck to you all!

ME TOOOO! Congrats and hahah don’t worry I did the samee thing. Ahh good luck to everyone!

Are the people getting off the wait list from out of state? I don’t think anyone from VA has gotten off the list. Am I right?

I’m not sure, but I’m out of state

I am also out of state, CT

I’m from South Carolina, and I was waitlisted. I got a cal 5 days ago saying I was taken off the waitlist.

I was waitlisted in march and I really want to go to jmu i visited it and i absolutley loved it! I know i belong there…my sat s are low and i think that was what held me back from other undergraduates… I was wondering what you guys did to get of the waitlist. I already sent in a personalized letter to the admissions should I do more?

The only thing I did was have admissions call me and tell me why I was waitlisted. I think what helped me was being out of state

Okay! Yeah I’m also out of state so hoping that will help… Did you ask them to call your house phone or guidance? I’m trying to decide which is better lol

I did their little form that they had. I think it’s called the decision inquiry form. Fill it out, they will call the number you give them, and they will tell you why you weren’t accepted. Showing some interest in that regard is better than just waiting.

Hey I filled out the decision inquiry and put my cell. Definitely the way to go! So they know you are sincerely interested and able to speak for yourself. I also sent them a letter saying why it’s my number one school and how they will benefit by taking me off the waitlist. Send a letter… you should do everything possible but don’t come off too strong. I also had my guidance counselor call and tell them it’s mu number one. Good luck keep us updated!

Good luck to everyone who’s been waitlisted! I emailed admissions today to withdraw my application after being accepted, so there’s definitely another spot open ;)

Today is May 5th. Has anyone from VA gotten off the waitlist yet? I am so curious to when they are going to start letting people know.

Got accepted yesterday! Thanks for the advice :)

Congrats! :)

My D withdrew her acceptance last week too so that opens up another spot. Good luck!
