I'm interested in doing business and possibly finance. I know for major Bschools, they prefer you to have had experience working. Since Pomona is on the west coast, would the major investment banking firms on the East Coast/Wall street like Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch still recognize a small liberal arts college from the west coast? Would I receive a disadvantaged in comparison to a east coast Ivy league?

I’m a graduating senior and I know many students, especially econ majors, who are either going into banking jobs or interned at Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, JP Morgan, Merill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Citibank, etc. And my year is pretty representative of general trends.

We also have many students go into consulting at Bain, Deloitte and other firms, both large and small.
