Hey,
I'm an international student recently accepted at Williams and Berkeley.
For me, Williams is where I want to go, however I have never heard about the job placements from there. Berkeley is more known and job placements is something that will influence my decision considerably.
I plan to major in Economics.

Can anybody tell me of their personal experiences or acquaintances'?
Thank you so much!

Though I can’t speak to Berkeley’s job opportunities, I can speak from personal experience that Williams fares very well in terms of top-shelf jobs and graduate school acceptance. I know many people from my graduating class working for excellent consulting firms, investment banks, etc. Business, medical, and law school placement rates are also very good.

To give you some perspective, firms like Bain and BCG regularly come to Williams to perform on-campus recruiting. That’s not the sort of treatment that most schools receive. The top consulting firms usually have a pretty short list of schools where they recruit directly, and Williams almost always finds itself amidst the company of other top liberal arts colleges and Ivy league schools.

Williams seems to have plenty of prestige when in comes to the top graduate schools.

you may have allready seen this, but it shows that quite nicely

Yes, I’ve seen the list and I’m sure that Williams has good grad school acceptance rates, however that is not my main concern as of now 'cause I will need to earn before I go to grad school.

@crynchycereal: Thank you SO much! Finally, somebody quoted companies. Seriously, you know have no idea what a relief it is to hear that. Also, would you be knowing how Williams job placements compare with those at say Smith, Colgate or Mount Holyoke(basically, slightly ‘lower’ schools )? Is it marginal or is there a definite difference?

Also, this is probably asking for a bit too much, but would you be having any international friends from Williams who’d be willing to talk to a prospective international student like me? I had a few concerns and till now, haven’t found a single international student.

Thanks a lot. =)

“job placements”

Thanks. I really don’t know what the scene will be 4 years from now.
