Hello everyone,
I was wondering, do hedge funds ever recruit from Princeton? If so, is it from a particular major? I've heard that pure science majors are more likely to be hired, but I am not sure if that's true. Thanks in advance!

hahaha that is hilarious i'm interested in the exact same field. However, I want to start my own! I think they recruit from all majors...they just want well educated and well rounded kids...youget the experience working at the company. In fact I met a woman who works at bridgewater, one of the most successful hedge funds, while I was visiting Princeton. She gave me her card and told me to keep her updated. She was there on a recruiting weekend...so the answer is yes they do recruit.

Yes, many companies do recruit heavily at Princeton.

Though this is not related to hedge funds, my brother got recruited by Abercrombie & Fitch to work at the Home Office (HQ) in Ohio (NOT retail or modelling).

Hedge Funds generally don't recruit from ANY colleges (exceptions are Wharton and Harvard). You usually go from IB -> Hedge Funds. Groups like Blackstone recruit exclusively from Harvard and Wharton.

Well sorry but that just blatantly isn't true. I was there and representatives of Bridgewater were on campus for a recruiting weekend. I talked to one of them, a princeton grad, and she said they were there to recruit upperclassmen for internships and jobs.

As a Princeton student, I can assure you that Blackstone most definitely does recruit here. As do hedge funds like Bridgewater and D.E. Shaw.

The hedge fund Fortress went public on Friday (and is now capitalized at 12.5 BILLION dollars) and is run by a Princeton graduate. He has hired lots of Princeton alumni. But interestingly, few were business or economics majors. The hedge funds prefer the super smart math majors.
