Wall Street Recruiting

I just got back from a Goldman Sachs information session. The senior Georgetown recruiter/representative announced that Goldman Sachs, this year, ranked Georgetown 3rd in its list of core schools. This means, generally, that Goldman will recruit Georgetown kids so that it is the 3rd most represented school. Just another example of Georgetown's amazing career network.

Shouldn't Vienna Ma be doing this kind of promotion? lol.

But yea, Gtown's networking is amazing.

What else did the representative say? What majors do they like to look at? Is it Finance or accounting? Do they look at SFS and the College as well?

that is very hard to believe....

so Goldman Sachs is taking more Gtown kids than like a Princeton or Stanford?

I am assuming that Wharton and Harvard are 1 and 2 respectively?

collegebound, I have the same assumption, but did not pursue the answers. But do keep in mind that this is for Summer Analyst recruitment (which in turn can be converted to full time), but this is what the recruiter announced...

sachmoney, Goldman of course looks at all majors across Georgetown. They especially emphasized that you look for diversity (race, study, etc) and they also emphasized how they will teach you everything you need to know for the job. They are look for bright and quick-learners.

Great for Georgetown...Have you been to any other Wall Street Recruiting Info Sessions? Who else is recruiting on campus?

All BB firms come on campus to recruit (usually during the first few weeks of the semester)... full-time for fall and summer for spring... feel free to browse through the calendar for a better idea...

Georgetown University event calendar

They said the SAME thing to alll the NYU Stern kids about a 2 wks ago....i mean its a nice thing to hear but chances are they are just "pulling your leg"

So there are A LOT of companies coming through. That's reassuring.

ixjunitxi... I sure hope they are not justing using it as a marketing stunt... I hope GS has more integrity than that... it's also possible that two/three schools may be tied for a certain spot...

My friend went to an info session at a top 15 school just recently. And Goldman surprisingly did not say that....

Hmmm, I'm trying to interpret what you mean about "surprisingly" and what school it is or if it's one I am applying to.
