In general, the less prestigious jobs - when held over time - tend to have more weight, because they signal that the applicant needs to earn money as opposed to being a spoiled rich kid. So Starbucks or Burger King are fine. That kind of job can provide an apparent explanation for weaknesses in ECs - the ad com assumes that with the work schedule the kid may not have time for extra activities; and if the ECs and courseload are strong, then the job is even more impressive: it shows a kid who must be very smart & capable to handle the workload.
