From what I’ve seen at career fairs, the average pay is around $11-13/hr. If you’re an upperclassmen returning to do the same job, they increase your pay by like $1 or $2.
There are a lot of jobs around GW. You’ll see them when you get your GWorks account and attend career fairs. A lot of jobs are in the public sector. There are jobs also on campus such as working at the libraries and housing dept. I don’t know how hard it is to get them, but I feel like it’s usually a bit easier for fed.work study kids to get jobs. It also depends on your sched. Some jobs require you to work practically the whole day. I remember once seeing a bio prof looking for a lab assistant who’ll work for about 8+ hrs straight during the day! That’s a bit unreasonable since most students have class throughout the day. There aren’t a lot of med. related jobs cuz we only have one hospital in the vicinity. And it’s kinda small.
For fed work study jobs, i’ve heard of tutoring and campus jobs. I tutor for DC Reads as part of my work study. It’s almost definite that you’ll get hired if you apply.

okay well i have fws in my package but im wondering. when we get to the max for FWS do we have to quit the job?
