<p>Does Stony Brook allow you to have part time to full time jobs? And are there any available around the campus, mall, etc? </p>
<p>Prefer any relating to my intended major, Computer Science and I personally never had a job before, so I don't even know where to get my working papers or start a resume...</p>
<p>I don’t think that any University can legally forbid the acquisition of a job. If you want an off campus job, your best bet is to either take a bus to the mall (3D eastbound goes to mall, 3D westbound goes back to campus), or any of the local business off the LIRR on the north shore branch.</p>

<p>There is a student jobs list on SOLAR. However, most of these positions are work-study only as the above user posted.</p>
<p>Occasionally, departments will hire students without work-study eligibility. For example, I worked with Campus Residences without having WS.</p>
<p>Is the SOLAR list up to date? They’ve had the same listings up ever since I came here.</p>
<p>Not sure. I used to see certain positions changed around, but many of them are likely on-going/open year-round.</p>
