Jock-mentality / Party School

What is the general mentality of people on campus? Given USC's rich folk and sports successes, i'm kinda scared of the people all being stuck-up, empty-brained jocks. Also, given the reputation of having a very attractive student-body, i'm wondering if I'll be left out of that somewhat. Granted i'm not ugly or anything, but i'm also not the 'wow, look at him, he's hot' guy.
Finally, I've heard about the Row taking on an Animal House kind of feel. While I'd like to party every once in a while, I definitely don't want to feel pressured into partying all the time. Can anyone tell me about the party scene there? Thanks for the help. I'm still in the process of deciding between USC and UCSD (which is pretty much the exact opposite of USC).

Parties are parties. Nobody can force you to do anything except yourself. USC is def. nothing like UCSD. That USC for spoiled rich snobby kids reputation is outdated. I have friends that attend USC and even from what I've seen over there, everybody is really freakin' nice. Really, really nice. Nobody was a stuck up dumb jock. There are going to be those people, but you'll find them at any college, and come on, this is something EVERYBODY tells you. The majority of students however are normal, friendly, smart people like you and me.

Wrong. Wrong. Wrong.

Have you been to the campus? The student body is diverse, with all sorts of students from all over the world. There are athletes, but many of them have comparable SAT scores. As I posted before only 1.5% of the admitted students are athletes, male and female.
Do not let stereotypes keep you from having a well rounded college experience. Please go to the SC website and look at the Tommycam at noon PT. Look at the breadth of majors available. Some of the most creative people in the world are SC alumni. Yes, Pete Carroll is at the football field, but Midori is in Bovard Auditorium. Go to the Student Life section and see the list of student organizations. It is amazing.
There are students at SC who have never set foot on the row. Visit the campus and see if you feel comfortable. PM rainmama who has just visited to read her unbiased point of view.
In view of the scores and GPAs you have seen posted here as well as the kinds of community service projects listed, do you really feel all these students are stuck up and empty headed? They will be some of your classmates.
