are there any stereotypical jocks at your school?

what are they like?

like a stereotypical jock

They take weird muscle supplements that cause anger management issues. They’re a lovely bunch.

Some of them are cool, some of them are jerks, most of them have really nice bodies…

And, contrary to popular belief, at least half of them are very intelligent.

I think that maybe only 2% are jerks, everyone else is super nice and easy to get along with.^And yes, lots are smart as well.

^^Agreed about the nice bodies hahah.

how many are asian?

^here there’s a few, although that’s to be expected because our school is like 40% asian… they’re the same though and mostly whitewashed, do drugs/alcohol, etc.

Playing football freshman year, I socialized with a lot of the to-be jocks and had an opportunity to hang out with them and stuff, and also to be popular (land the babes). But after they started doing drugs I decided they weren’t for me and while I coulda been a popular jock, I think it’s better not mingling with that crowd. I somewhat regret the potential ■■■■■ though…

^^exactly 0 are asian… :/

We had a couple at my old Christian school. One of them, in particular, was a classic stereotypical jock (no offense to anyone)! He played spots 24/7, was always immature, and he was a complete idiot. He (at 18 years old) dropped out of school because he got a sixteen year old girl pregnant. The irony? He had ONE STINKIN’ SEMESTER LEFT until he could graduate and go to college paid for by a sport scholarship and by his parents!!!

Luckily, he married her and got a job with health insurance. He’s growing up and piecing his life together now. Sometimes you just have to learn the hard way!

^christian school values right there

does anyone worry how the lives of these girls are ruined, pressured into cheerleading and having sex? And more damaging, being treated like easy game rather than humans?

^it’s called building character

Pressured into cheerleading?

Ha.

Yes, but since my school is so strict with academics they got kicked out because they failed. So we have like 2 stereotypical jocks in our school. Sad thing was, these guys were really dumb, like whose 19 and still a junior failing every class.

No not anyone is my school is a stereotypical jock. Most of the athletes are pretty cool and funny and the one’s that aren’t are just shy and focus on academics.

I won’t say most jocks are stupid because the XC/Track team/Tennis/Soccer teams have the highest GPA’s in the school.

The football team is dumb thought save for a few outliers.

We have like maybe 1 Asian athlete.

My school is the epitome of stereotypes, and the jocks are no exception. Literally, all the jocks are complete ***holes to anyone they deem “inferior” to them (which is virtually everyone), they disrupt any class you have with them and scream across the room at each other, they’re completely incompetent and will all end up at the local community college… they’re the reason I can’t wait to leave high school.

coachella, “weird muscle building supplements that cause anger management problems”

Really? I expected posts on CC to be more intelligent than that. Any supplement you can currently buy at a nutrition store cannot alter your hormones, with the exception of pro-hormones (which are now banned or in the process of being banned i believe.)

We have two types of “jocks”, in all actuality we have two types of every stereotype.

First you have the people who the world revolves around, well, they believe it does. These people could be the jocks bullying the weaker kids, the “pretty” girls applying an overabundance of cheap mall perfume, or the people who walk around yelling loudly in the halls and whom are willing to fight you right then and there. These people are popular because they make you believe in their little self-created bubble, which is how they gain followers which equals more popularity. Typically, they all sleep with/do drugs together.

Then you have the actual popular people. These people can range from the captain of the football team who happens to be the nicest guy in the whole school, the homecoming queen who would never say anything hurtful, or even the overweight media kid who happens to be the most brilliant speaker I know. These people aren’t rude, they don’t fit the typical stereotype.

So there’s my insight on my high school’s stereotypes. Oh, the people who are actually popular are popular because they are genuine people. Most of the people in the first group happen to be the most fake people.

no need for being smirk, I think he was referring to steroids, which are illegal, but that doesn’t mean jocks don’t use them, I’m not saying whether that’s true or not, but that’s how I interpreted his comment, and speaking of which, I love your name, are you involved with aops?
