Anyone know what kind of standardized test scores and GPA that admitted JHU students tend to have? Preferably the upper 75% in terms of performance. I’ve seen results on Prepscholar but others have told me it’s not a very reliable website.

@Socrates_13

Don’t know about GPA but here: https://apply.jhu.edu/discover/by-the-numbers/

Would anyone be willing to share what they wrote their essays on/a brief outline? The prompt feels very broad and I’m not quite sure where to start.

How much of the essay do you guys think should focus on JHU specifically? Right now, it’s about 40% of my essay, and while I feel like it’s too little, cutting down on the beginning of my essay would get rid of a part that I think shows a lot of personality. I wish we had a higher word limit–500 words is not enough.

Hi Im from Massachusetts and was wondering if anyone would chance me for Johns Hopkins RD. Im looking to do material science so my top is Johns Hopkins where they veer more towards biomaterials and sustainability which are the areas I’m interested in moreso than metals and those more industrial type areas.

Something I am hoping will make me stand out Did independent research into Piezoelectric materials the past three years. I started out sophomore year growing and testing the piezoelectric properties of Rochelle salts and then last year built a small scale generator with the help of my physics teacher using a piezoelectric ceramic element. This year I met with an MIT professor to work on my research project this year which has to do with bio-piezoelectric materials where I’ll extract cellulose from algae with a greener chemical process I’m designing and then fabricating that cellulose into an actuator at a nearby lab facility.

Work at Target in electronics
Varsity swim team all four years
Peer tutor past three years

Awards:
Bausch and lomb science award
Key club
Most active chair of the leo club
Honors Academy

I have strong letters and a good essay (imo)
Thank you!!!

Does JHU have an application Portal to track our app?

unlike many schools, there is not
however, they will send you a post card notifying you that your application is complete

my son was accepted ED

Does Hopkins accept research supplements such as papers, abstracts, etc?

^^^^ yeah is there a place to submit research abstracts??

hey, at least we were able to submit a resume. i guess we can talk about research there (though I don’t think we can’t actually submit abstracts)

I just talked about my research in the additional information section of the app. (Although, in hindsight, I also could have submitted links to the abstracts, since mine are online.)

Is there an official date that results are going to be released on for RD?
