Johns Hopkins ED- Sleepless nights PLEASE HELP Major in Political science

Hi- I need help. A lot of it :(

Ethnicity: white
GPA: 3.67 :'(

SAT: 680 Reading 720 Math 630 Writing (they don't look at writing tho :) )

SAT II: 640 US History

School: Prominent catholic highschool with difficult cirriculum

APs: US History- Microeconomics-Biology-Statistics-Government-
Lots of Honors but also started off in regular classes :(

ECs (Gold) : 1. president of speech and debate team (nationally ranked and stuff) 2. Editor in chief of 2 school newspapers 3. Head of Campus Ministry in my school 4. Black belt in taekwondo (6 years ish) 5. Head of a branch of my student government

Recs: (REALLY REALLY GOOD) My teacher explained how amazing one was and my other is very good (I love that woman and she knows I do haha)

Essays: I've asked and unanimously people have said it was very engaging and like 20 people all said it was 8-8.5 (not sure if that is good…is it?)

--Do you think I could sneak in ED? -- Also- Do you think that applying Political science would help compared to Biology/BME

ALSO: I interviewed and the guy and me spent a ton of time laughing. He said he was gonna write a really good write up.

Your academic performance is low for JHU. I can’t guarantee that you’ll be accepted, but I also cannot guarantee that you’ll be rejected. You need to have some compelling hook, great essays and/or exceptionally unique extracurriculars to really bolster your chances of being accepted.

I thought 1400 was generally around their acceptance?

I think your EC will really help, but scores are low (mine are too). I think the most important thing is your essay since it is the only thing that isn’t already pre-determined. If you have a great essay, especially their supplemental one because thats the one they actually care about, then your chances will increase. I do think your ethnicity is working against you though :frowning: what is your weighted GPA and what are your AP Scores/senior schedule? those might help.
