Johns Hopkins Master of Engineering vs. Lesser Known State School MBA

I currently have a BS in Supply Chain & Logistics degree that is a blend of engineering and business. I have been accepted into the MS in Systems Engineering at Johns Hopkins University. My question is what the general public's opinion of this degree may be. Would it be better in your mind to pass on Johns Hopkins and get an MBA from a State School (which is not well know outside of Texas). My employers is willing to cover most of the Johns Hopkins degree, although getting the Johns Hopkins degree doesn't come with a raise but it does secure a job that I am training for.

First, what does the opinion of the general public have to do with your educational and career goals?

Second, which degree furthers your educational and career interests?

Myself I see a lot of value in the JHU master’s and little value in the noname MBA except to the extent your employer values it and you are going to be staying with that employer. But that is my own personal bias on hard skills vs soft skills too.

^I agree with @BrownParent. The value of an MBA diminishes rapidly as you go down the tiers; average salaries from less-well-reputed MBA programs can often be not that much higher than mid-career salaries from bachelor’s holders. Also, why pay for a degree from an admittedly “no name” program when your employer is willing to foot the bill for a program at a school that has a good overall reputation and a good reputation in engineering and business?
