Johns Hopkins or Georgetown?

Johns Hopkins (in DC) or Georgetown?

I'm interested in the Communication program at both schools. Neither of the programs are ranked in this field, but I want to live in DC. Regardless of tuition, which school or rather name/reputation, do you think opens more doors?

Johns Hopkins has more prestige in terms of ranking but...Georgetown has more alumni and fans.

I would appreciate your opinion on this matter....

By fans, you mean Hoya bball fans right?..;-). Honestly, JHU and Georgetown are about equal in prestige within DC due to Georgetown being based in DC while JHU has SAIS in DC and an abundance of alumni in Dupont Circle. Internationally, JHU has more clout. Visit Georgetown and JHU as both are in distinct parts of DC. I've always had the impression that Georgetown might be better for the private sector unless you can somehow network with SAIS students and recruiters. JHU is generally better for public or economic policy (especially within the World Bank) and work within the government sector.
