For a French/History major, should I attend JHU or Smith? Please help, I urgently need advice. Thanks!

wow i am going through the same dilemma, except history major. weird.

oh you said french/history whoops just saw the french. ok now that's even weirder.

jhu is REALLY good for french.

Just a few points to think about as you make your decision:

Baltimore, MD and Northampton, MA are very different places.

2,500 Undergrads at a LAC or 4,000 Undergrads at a National Research University

The liberal arts at Hopkins are less known but that does not mean they are not exceptional programs. The History major in fact is one of our stronger departments, and the professors are extremely accessible since the program is a bit smaller in number of enrolled students. Access to D.C. and especially the Smithsonian Institution makes it great for research and internships for History majors.

The French program at Hopkins is one of only 5 programs in the country to be officially recognized by the French Government -- we think that is cool.

In the end, Hopkins and Smith are two great schools - but very, very different in location and size.

johns hopkins of course. why would you want to go to an all girls school?
