i realy unexpecteldly got into hopkins (sat is 100 pts below average, and i have no URM legacy or other hooks)

do you think its smart to go here for premed? what are the pros and cons- i know its suposed to be a great premed school, but ive heard how absolutely hard the work can be (im probly going to be a history major thou)

if you work really hard at hopkins, you can do it.
the advising is really great.

don't expect the name to really push you forward unless you are capable of getting the stats you need to back you up.

how hard is it to attain high stats at hopkins?

yeah, bump- someone in the JHU thread who goes to hopkins said the admissions office publishes a pamphlet and that the average engineering GPA is a 3.35 and humanities 3.5

id be really happy if thats the case , but so many people talk about grade deflation that i dont understand how this could be.

well probably because hopkins is comprised of lots of overachievers

not anymore than the ivys

my intro to chem course is curved to a B-
I think the same goes for introductory physics.
the gen bio course here is just straight-up easy from what I hear.
the orgo class isn't curved at all.

I hope that helps!

Does that mean 90%+ is an A, 80-89% B, 70-79% C and so on?

wow dude urs isnt curved??? UM's is usually curved to 80+A 60+ B 40+ C

not curved might mean a good thing cuz if it was curved, someone might screw up the curve.
